For me, painting is a practice, a perspective on life. Each new piece presents a chance for optimism. This is why I paint and what I hope to convey.
The experience of Mendocino, on the coast and inland, has inspired and informed my painting for decades. Along with interpreting the natural world through painting, I serve on the Board of the Mendocino Land Trust, supporting efforts to preserve and conserve the special and precious places in our environment.
Primarily self -taught, I took painting and drawing workshops at Mendocino Art Center (MAC), College of the Redwoods, San Francisco Art Institute, and from renowned watercolor teachers: George Post, Barbara Nechis, and Frank Webb.
Chosen as an Artist in Resident at Yosemite National Park, I had the opportunity to show at the Yosemite Museum Gallery. My work has been exhibited at California College of the Arts, California Oak Foundation, California Wildlife Foundation.
Currently, I show my work at the Artists Cooperative of Mendocino, where I serve as President.
